Past, Present, Imperfections

 I wanted to write about how my solo show went this summer. Putting together a solo show is an amazing experience, it pushes an artist to delve deep, to reflect and respond. It can also be a bridge between past creative practices and future ones. When I began the ‘Past Present Imperfections’ work I had no idea how much my life and work would change. Originally conceived as an idea in 2014 it was only shown in its entirety this year, some of the work dated back to 2015….most was new this year.  During the course of this year my work has developed dramatically, become more abstract, confident and increasingly textured. I am particularly proud of the Port of Norwich Series, the Gas Towers and the abstract grids; Westlegate and Sovereign House. The latter have encouraged me to continue through with more abstract work. I was thrilled with the response, and sales! I proved to myself that with a looming deadline I can really push productivity whilst still keeping an eye on content. Thank you to all who came and to those who bought work.
